Record Store USA is designed to be a privacy-respecting public interest site. We collect minimal data:
- Analytics data: We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic patterns (pages visited, referral sources, device types). GA4 uses first-party cookies and does not share data with third parties for advertising.
- Newsletter subscriptions: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address solely for sending updates about the site. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Server logs: Our web server records standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and performance monitoring. These logs are rotated and deleted after 30 days.
What We Don't Collect

All data displayed on Record Store USA is sourced from official public records: FEC.gov, Congress.gov, Senate Lobbying Disclosure Act filings, USASpending.gov, House Financial Disclosures, and ProPublica 990 data. This data is already in the public domain and we do not publish any private or non-public information.
